Witham Wheelers held their annual round of the Linc’s league on Sunday 3rd November near Stroxton, thanks again to local Farmer Dave Madge for allowing use of his fields. In fairly dry conditions an interesting course was laid out over a couple of days, which riders gave good feedback on after the event.
In the Youth event Isla Kolbert rode a good event for 7th overall and first under 16 girl. Older sister Amy was a clear winner in the senior female race with Julie Clark riding her first cross event of the winter 3rd overall and leading veteran.
In the veterans race for riders over 40 Simon Cocker was 27th overall (5th vet 60) with the winner Gareth Whittall. George Thompson (Rose race Team) from Sleaford won the senior race.
The following weekend Linc’s league round was held on an interesting course on parkland at South Elkington near Louth, promoted by the Louth Cycle Centre. Julie Clark found the course to he liking and was a clear winner of the womens race. Simon Cocker rode well for 25th overall (4th vet 60) in the veterans race which was won by Corby Glen rider Dave Earth (Rose Race Team). George Thompson (Rose race Team) from Sleaford was again the winner of the senior race.
On the same day there was a round of the Leicestershire league at Market Harborough with Isla Kolbert 12th Overall and first under 16in the youth event. Amy Kolbert was 4th overall in the senior ladies race won by Kate Eedy (Team Empell). Matthew Kingston-Lee was 47th overall 19th (Vet 40) in the senior mens race won by Jake Hales (Ride Revolution)
