The penultimate round of the Lincolnshire Cyclo-Cross league took place at Bardney promoted by VC Lincoln. A location normally renowned for its bleakness at this time of year turned out to be pleasantly sunny and the previous days heavy rain had softened the normally bumpy course a little without making it too muddy.

With the best 5 out of 7 results to count several club members are vying for top 3 places in the league overall.

In the under 16s Amy Kolbert was 20^th overall (4^th under 14 girl) and could take a top 3 overall a great reward for consistency in her first year in this age group.

The under 9s don’t have league positions to avoid putting pressure on young riders but again all the clubs youngsters gave it their all with a smile on their faces, showing great promise for the future with – Noah Lane 4th, Annabelle Gould 5th (2nd Girl), Max Kolbert 6th,

In the under under 12s Oliver Bailey was 6th, Joshua Lane 10^th and Isla Kolbert 14th (2nd Girl). Isla looks to have done enough to finish 2^nd girl overall while Oliver and Joshua are just outside the top 3.

The veterans is probably the most competitive category, certainly in terms of numbers. This week Paul Conneely was 3oth (8th Vet 50), Sean East 44th (28th Vet 40) just held off Simon Cocker 45th  (5th Vet 50) by a few seconds with Dave Miller 51^st (7th vet 50) and Adam Kolbert 61st. Overall Paul Conneely is currently in 2^nd place overall in the 50-59 category but could lose out as more riders complete 5 events. While Simon Cocker is currently 5^th but could move up into the top 3 in the 60+ category with the addition of his 5^th event.

Another good ride by Julie Clark this week in the Ladies finishing 4^th overall which will be enough to secure 1^st place overall in the Veterans category an excellent result in her first full cross season.

The final counting league event will be at Scunthorpe on Sunday 30^th Dec.
