Karl Baillie (Haribo-Beacon) raced in the 2/3/4 support race at the Leicester Castle Classic. A crash on the first corner allowed a rider to solo off the front before being joined by another rider. Karl tried to bridge the gap getting away with another rider and although they worked well together couldn’t reel in the 2 riders up front. Karl beat his fellow breakaway rider with relative ease at the end to take 3rd place.
In the 50 mile Elite Race Peter Cocker (PedalPushers) lined up in the 80 rider field with most of the top UK teams  represented. However it was not be Peters day as he crashed on only the third lap. A heavy downpour just as the start flag was dropped made some of the corners very slippery and with the early fast pace splitting the field Peter pushed a little too hard into one of the corners and was out of the race, luckily with only a few abrasions. The race was won by Jon Mould (NFTO racing)
