Karl Baillie raced in the final round of the revolution series at the Olympic Velodrome in London for team Sky in the Hoy Future stars. In the opening 20 lap points race Karl was up there for the second sprint managing to get 2 points but couldn’t get any more to finish just outside the top 5. In the 6 lap dash Karl was a bit too far back heading into the final lap but still managed to finish top 10. In the final 20 lap scratch Karl rode off the front with 5 laps to go after keeping at the front the whole race but was caught by the bunch with a lap to go. He really enjoyed the experience riding in front of a full crowd of 6,000 people and was pleased to finish the series in 5th overall as well as team Sky finishing 2nd overall.
Karl was also riding at the Premier division track league at Manchester on Tuesday evening. Karl was in the faster group and rode strongly throughout the night, especially in the 10 mile scratch where the average speed was nearer 31mph. That also came off of the back of a training camp for Karl with the British Cycling Olympic Development Programme down in Newport.
