Peter Cocker (PedalPushers) took his first win of the season on a very hot Saturday afternoon in the E123 race held over 90 minutes (around 30 laps) at Mallory Park. Getting into 4 man break after only 3 laps the lead hovered at around 30 seconds for almost 10 laps when the elastic to the bunch finally broke and the lead pushed out to a minute. With 2 riders from the same team in the break Peter decided to improve his odds and attacked with 6 laps to go to establish a 10 second gap on the nearest chaser who persisted for 3 laps before dropping back to leave Peter to ride solo to the finish for a clear win.
After the race Peter was presented with the Roger Martin memorial cup. The Trophy was first presented in 2007  in memory of Roger who gave a lot to cycling in the East Midlands and was a great supporter of  races at Mallory. With the points gained from the race Peter now has his first category BC licence.
