Smaller fields at Darley Moor missed warm dry conditions, which as regular visitors will now are extremely unusual at this circuit. However the E123 still had a quality field and after the usual early skirmishes Peter Cocker (PedalPushers) joined Adam Kenway (Buzz Cycles) to forge a 15 second lead, realising the danger professionals Kieran Frend (An Post) and Dave Clarke (KTM) crossed the gap and the 4 riders established a 20 second lead which the rest of the bunch were never able to close. With 5 laps to go Harry Browning (PedalPushers) attacked from the bunch with another rider but after a couple of laps they were reabsorbed by the bunch leaving the 4 leaders to fight out the finish.
Going into the last lap Cocker attacked but was soon closed down then it was Kenways turn and on his second attempt the others watched each other rather than chasing him down and he rode away for a clear win. In the sprint for second Cocker was outpaced by his two more experienced rivals but was content with 4th. Browning took a good 9th overall in the sprint from the rest of the bunch.
