Patrick Cutmore, Alistair Golby, Chris Carter and James Carter rode the first early season road race held at Darley Moor in the cat 3/4 event
Conditions were hard with a strong headwind on the finishing straight, and a strong crosswind on the longest straight which required aggressive riding to get shelter in the left hand gutter, this causing strong attacks to be made in attempt to split the bunch.
James Carter and Alistair Golby rode really well in their debut road race, working well together to chase down moves, and stay in the upper end of the bunch. James thought he was in for a good result with perfect positioning on the last lap but got swamped. Alistair rode a fantastic race and finished in the bunch. Patrick Cutmore rode a positive race staying in the middle of the bunch and then moving up towards the end of the race to contest the sprint. Chris Carter suffered a mechanical whilst warming up, forcing him to ride some slow wheels, however Chris still rode a good race getting into an early move and then finishing in the bunch.
All in all a good day out for the wheelers, with all club riders being able to avoid the crashes which often happen, the next Darley Moor is on the 15th of March, with the 3/4 event, starting at 10am
