A good turnout of 37 riders for the latest Witham Wheelers Reliability Ride despite the 40mph winds forecast for later in the morning. A rolling 62 mile route down to Castle Bytham and onto Witham on the Hill before back turning East with the wind towards Bourne and the Heckimgton. The final stretch back to Grantham is always into the prevailing South Westerley wind and dragging back upto the High Dyke via Silk Willoughby and Welby is a real test of stamina.
Nearly all riders completed the route in their target time with a few DNFs due to punctures and mechanicals.
Next week Sunday 28th Feb its another 60 mile route with afew more hills taking in Melton Mowbray, Tilton on the Hill and Oakham. A shoter route is available for the less experienced riders.
First group leaves the cricket club on Gorse Lane at 8.45, all welcome.
