The 9th Witham Wheelers Reliability Ride was another challenging ride in dry but windy conditions over a 70 mile route out to Colton Bassett then up to Walton on the Wolds onto Castle Bytham and returning to Grantham via Ingoldsby. There was still a good turn out of 35 riders with most riders finishing in their target times, with groups 2 and 3 riding well together to make sure everyone completed in their target time. The faster groups 4 and 5 combined and the quicker pace proved difficult for some riders on the rolling section over Long Clawson hill and the group splintered before regrouping to sort out a puncture and then splitting again on the run in to the finish.
Group 1 enjoyed a shorter 30 mile route.
Next week Sunday 9th March its another 70 mile ride taking in a route round Rutland Water, first group leaves the Cricket Club on Gorse Lane at 8.30 and there will again be a shorter route for those not wanting to tackle the full distance.
