The final Witham Wheelers Reliability ride was held in glorious sunshine as 12 riders tackled the full 60 mile routes taking in all the main climbs along the ridge out towards Melton Mowbray. All the groups kept together really well despite the constant climbing with the first group averaging 16.3mph and the second group a rapid 19.8mph. Another group of 9 riders rode a slightly less ambitious 41 mile route at 13.9 mph.
A presentation was made to Jonathan Jarvis as the only rider who had ridden all 11 rides. Two riders missed only 1 ride Harry Browning and Dale Courtman.
With the racing season now getting into full swing we will revert to the regular club runs
Saturdays: an easy (12-13mph) 30 miles with a cafe stop starting at 9.30 from PedalPushers cycle shop (Inner Street)
Sundays: a longer 50 miles or so at a steady pace (15-16)mph) with a cafe stop, starting at 8.30 from Grantham Market Cross. There will also usually be a faster ride (17-18mph) at 8.45 also from the Market Cross.
