A good day for club riders at the final round of the seven race PedalPushers circuit race series at Yarborough Sports Centre Lincoln.
In the under 14s Adam Egner attacked straight away taking 2 riders with him and lapping the rest of the field. He tried to escape from his breakaway companions but never gained a significant gap. Coming into the sprint Adam kicked early holding them off until the final bend but he still gained a good 2nd place.
In the under 16’s Reece Egner and Josh Snodin (Melton Olympic) went from the gun, lapping the field. Reece tried podiumto get away a few times but Josh was straight onto his wheel. Coming into the last lap neither rider wanted to lead out which caused the pace to slow right down, In the final straight Reece made his move which was good enough to just hold on for the victory. With these results Adam came 2nd in the under 14s league and Reece won the under 16’s in the series.
In the Under 16 girls Jennifer McAndrew rode a tactically sound race as she mixed in with the chasing group of boys to distance the other girls for a clear win and consolidate her first place in her category in the Pedalpushers series.
In the senior 2/3 category event Peter Cocker, still feeling the effects of the Junior Tour of Wales from the previous weekend, was happy with 6th place after playing the supporting role for his Forme team mates who placed 2nd and 4th.
