Ratae 10
Yet another pb for Gary Symons, recording a 55.52 in today’s Ratae 25 mile TT on the A46 near Six Hills.Â
Good times were also recorded by Tony Hardenberg (1.06.08),
Jon Beere (58.39) Martin Hedley (1.01.18) and Martin Lister (1.05.47).
Manchester Wheelers 50, Â
Rick Yates thought he would try to get a 50 time in before the end of the season, especially as he had not ridden one for 30 years.
The course was between Stoke on Trent and Uttoxeter, involving almost 40 miles of dual carriageway, 17 roundabout negotiations and two dog legs off the main route to make up the distance. The very slight northerly cross wind proved to be ideal for the route as much of it along the dual carriageway was sheltered by hedging and woodland.
The resultant time of 1-51-49 was a very pleasant surprise to say the least as being caught for 7 minutes still with 20 miles to go was quite worrying.
Due to leaving the proceedings early the full results were not in but the fastest rider at that point had recorded 1hour 38 minutes which broke last years course record by approximately 1 min 30 sec with the majority of the seeded riders and last years course record setter, still to finish.
