Cold wet and windy and very early in the morning raised several question marks as to the wisdom of starting in the Grantham triathlon based at Meres Leisure centre sprint course with a 400 metre swim, followed by 18km bike ride and 5km run.

Richard Ellingworth, Stephan Lawrence and Matt Pennifold took part and recorded times of 75:24, 58:33 and 64:14 and placings of 70th, 11th and 25th respectively. Richard very sensibly donned jacket and overshoes for the bike section whereas the others had a colder bike and run, for the sake of quicker transitions.

Nearly 120 triathletes took part ranging from elite to novice and the event was well organised by Point 7, a sub-set of Lincsquad based in North Lincolnshire. TWG took the photos.
