It was a case of hope over experience on Sunday morning as 17 riders started the 9th of the Witham Wheelers reliability rides and for the first hour all went well, riding out into the Vale of Belvoir with the wind behind and dry conditions. However as the riders turned towards Long Clawson the forecast heavy rain arrived on schedule and with the temperature dropping and no signs of any improvement the collective decision was taken to head back to the HQ for hot drinks and too try and dry out, with most riders having completed around 40 of the scheduled 69 miles.
Sunday 12th March its the penultimate ride with a choice of 61 and 50 mile routes taking in some really nice roads around Rutland Reservoir, with hopefully some better weather. First group leaves the cricket club on Gorse Lane at 8.30, all welcome
