Ex-wheeler from Corby Glen rider Alistair Golby now riding for Cambridge University finished 7th in the British University championships 10 mile time trial in a time of 20.30. Another ex-wheeler Karl Baillie riding for Derby University 25th in 21.54. Winner was Matt Langworthy (Imperial College) 20.00
Melton Olympic 25 – Sat 7th April
Some rapid early season times on the A46 Newark to Saxondale dual carriageway course with Michael Smalley just outside the hour in 1.00.14 and John Scott 1.13.08. Winner was Greth Pymm – team Bottrill 49.53
Spalding Hilly 18 miles – Sun 8th April
The following day Alistair Golby won the Spalding Hilly from Bourne woods up to Somerby roundabout and back in a time of 40.07, with Michael Smalley 26th in 51.01.
