A few important notes following on from last weeks AGM which was reasonably well attended, thanks to all those who came along, especially those who volunteered to take up new committee positions. Details of the new committee and updated club constitution can be found on the web site and next years calendar should also be published shortly.
Club Membership payment
As Christine Edwards has stepped down as membership secretary after doing such a great job for the last few years, Carol Milne has agreed to take on the job along with her general secretaries duties. This is on the basis that the preferred method of payment of club membership is now through the British Cycling payment system.
You can find the link on the club web site from the Club Information menu, you do not have to be a member of British Cycling to use this system, it is very easy and will help greatly to reduce Carols workload.
It was agreed at the AGM that membership would become due from AGM and should be paid 31st December, to ensure that you are insured to take part in club activities in the new year. Any questions please contact either Carol or myself.
Mince Pie Run – 14th December
The annual mince pie run is this Sunday 14th Dec, can all club runs arrange to meet up and leave from the Cricket club from say 9.00 and aim to be back at the club room from around 11.30 to 12.00 to partake of Mince Pies/Sausage Rolls  and festive fun.
Non-cycling friends and family are also welcome to attend and if you want to bring along a cake or something then that would be welcome.
Clothing
Karen Crawford has also stepped down as Clothing Secretary after doing a great job of ordering and distributing the club clothing for quite a few years. John Farmer has now taken over the job and he can be contacted with regards stock clothing that we have (you can find his details on the web site).
John will be organising a new order shortly, details of which will be circulated as soon as they are available.
Dinner
Janet is now taking the booking forms as recently distributed. Please note that Mark Barry the original guest speaker is now unable to attend, due to unforseen circumstances.
However it looks like we have a replacement Chris Sidwells, which is a name you may not be familiar with but if you check out his web site http://www.chrissidwells.com/index.html you will see he has a great knowledge of cycling writing books on mechanics to, routes and climbs and some impressive autobiographies, so he should have some interesting things to say. Plus he is a regular contributor to Cycling Weekly and other well known magazines.
