Update 15th May
Following the withdrawal by the RAF of all non operational activities on the Barkston Heath airfield the PedalPushers circuit race series has now identified a new circuit at Fulbeck Kart track. This is a 1.2km circuit reasonably well surfaced, cornering skill will be more important than on the old B.Heath circuit but it should promote some good racing. Of circuit facilities are good and from a spectators perspective they will get an excellent view of the racing.
The first event is scheduled for Saturday 31st May promoted by Bourne Wheelers with races for all Youth categories, Ladies, 4th category and 2/3/4 category. Field sizes will be limited to 40 riders for this first event. Entries are now being taken via the BC on-line entry system.
It is envisaged that further events later in the season will follow
Location is at Post Code LN5 OQZ just off the A17 half way between Sleaford and Newark

Update 19th April
Two photo albums have now been added of the Youth and Senior races.
We have also identified a possible new  circuit and are planning to run a test event on the 10th May to see if it is suitable to continue the PedalPushers series in its current format for 2014. Please keep this date free in your diary and we will hopefully make the full announcement if the formalities can be completed in time.

Update 14th April
Unfortunately due to the sudden withdrawal by the RAF of access to the Barkston Heath airfield to all non-operational activities we are having to look for an alternative facility at which to stage these races. Hopefully we will be able to find somewhere suitable in the near future and we will advise accordingly.
The race on the 26th April due to be promoted by Spalding CC has had to be cancelled.

Update 6th April
Witham Wheelers promoted the first round of the PedalPushers circuit race league at RAF Barkston Heath near Grantham Lincolnshire. With a full days programme of Youth and separate races for Ladies, 4th category and 2/3/4 categories there was no rest for race officials as they kept the races on schedule with 225 riders taking to the start line during the day.
Conditions were cool but mostly dry on the 1km circuit which is well surfaced with fast flowing corners but the exposed location always makes for hard racing with only the strongest riders able to make a break stick.
Racing was really competitive in all the categories but most of the races seemed to follow a similar pattern with riders making small breaks but never able to break the elastic, before being reined in by a dwindling bunch in time for the final sprint.
Only the final 2/3/4 race finally broke the mould when a small group of 4 riders Julian Grommett(Squadra RT ), Ryan Perry (Langdale Lightweights )Harry Browning (PedalPushers) and James Bevan (VC Meudon) finally pulled out a 15 second gap with 3 laps to go, then Jim  Coleman (PedalPushers ), Blake Cowley (Clay Cross RT) and Peter Cocker (PedalPushers) all individually jumped across the gap to contest the final sprint which was won by Julian Grommett by a tyre from Ryan Perry.
The next event is promoted by Spalding CC again at Barkston Heath on Saturday 26th April.

A Photo album will be published on the web site, in a week or so as we just have a few issues to resolve setting up the new album l1nks.
If anybody has gone home with an extra helmet by mistake can they let me (gill_simoncocker@hotmail.com) know please , as we have a young lad who has misplaced his at the event and would  very much like to get it back.
Update 3rd April
The first event on 5th April has full fields for both the senior 4th and 2/3/4 events but there are still plenty of places in the Juvenile and Ladies only events, with on-line entries now closed entry on the day will be available. See program notes attached and rider lists now atached.
