Karl Baillie (HMT Academy) raced in the National Junior Road Race Championship on the tough Ryedale GP course at the weekend. The racing was aggressive early on with a group of 7 riders containing 3 of Karl’s teammates breaking away.
Karl struggled to begin with but rode into the race and tried to bridge across the 30 second gap to the breakaway on his own and nearly made it but unfortunately couldn’t quite make it. Karl recovered in the peloton before going on the attack again finishing in a solid 9th place behind the breakaway in a field of over 100 riders.
