The final reliability of the Witham wheelers series finishes off with the traditional 13 hills ride, Its a ‘slightly’ convoluted 58 mile route taking in all the hills along the Belvoir ridge out to Long Clawson, to give 1,100m of climbing. With several weeks having been lost to poor weather conditions there was still a reasonable turnout of riders setting out in 2 groups, which kept together and on-pace, very well considering the gusty wind and constant hills.
It’s actually only 12 hills but that’s a long story and its enough, in order Denton (main road to Croxton), Knipton, Branston, Eaton, Harby, Long Clawson, Stathern, Terrace, Graveyard, Woodyard, Woolsthorpe and Denton. Must work out how to include Pasture Lane.
Completing the route at 14.7mph were Dave Miller, Russ Newman, Julie Clark, Geoff Stone J.Blair and Mark Taylor.
While the second group finished in 17.1mph Simon Cocker, John Farmer, Chris Bradshaw, Paul Conneely, Crispin Bridges-Webb and Charlotte Colclough.
Must give thanks to all those who helped out with these rides

Next Sunday 25th the club reverts to the regular club rides starting at 8.30 from the Market Cross. Rides are typically 50-60 miles with a café stop.
Tuesday 2nd April also sees the start of the club evening time trial series with a 10 mile 2-up i.e. where riders ride in pairs to emphasise teamwork rather than speed at this early part of the year. Prizes presented on the evening. Register to ride at the Cricket club on Gorse Lane from 6.00pm with the first team to start at 6.45. Riders are recommended to carry a working rear light and helmet.
