10 Mile TT league – Week 5 – Photos in Gallery

Round 5 of the Witham Wheelers 10 mile Time Trial league was at last a warner evening but there was still a strong westerly wind for the riders to contend with, slowing riders again up the drag to Saltby, to turn 2.

This week it was the triathletes leading the way with Stephen Hobday first in 24.44 just 7 seconds in front of Adam Madge. Henry Gould dropped back a little on previous weeks for third in 25.07

Tracey George 28.46 was again quickest lady, but only 2 seconds separated Carol Milne 30.04 and Julie Clark 30.06 with newcomer Claire Hardy not far behind in 30.18.

Another good ride by youngster Jack Simpson 33.50 achieving a PB in tough conditions.

Quite a few improvements this week with Claire Hardy leading the way with 2.07 in only her second week, from Martin Hedley returning to fitness with 25 seconds equal in second with John Orridge.

Michael Smalley + 3.13 looks to be returning to form after a few slower weeks, from Stephen Hobday + 2.01 and Simon Cocker +1.51.

Tuesday 15th May it’s a break from the 10 mile league as it’s the first of the circuit time trials over 1 lap of the 12 mile Hungerton-Saltby- Sproxton-Skillington circuit. Register to enter from 6.00 pm at the Cricket Club on Gorse lane with first rider staring at 6.45 and then at 1 minute intervals. All welcome to come and have a go on what is a challenging but enjoyable course.
