Ex-Wheeler Peter Cocker now riding for Essex based team Richardsons Cycles is seeing his form steadily improve as the season progresses. After a tough ride in the 105 mile Chorley grand prix which saw him retire at 80 miles.

He then rode the local Cicle Classic race over 110 miles from Oakham to Melton over some very challenging roads and with a big field of 180 riders including several overseas professional teams. Peter rode well staying in the leading groups as the field split and reformed on the hilly narrow roads and farm tracks around Owston but was disappointed to finally run out of legs with only 15 miles to go and retired. 

A week later on Sunday 29^th April it was onto the 100 mile Klondyke GP, another round of the British Cycling Premier calendar, with 140 riders, including all the UK professional teams, on a tough hilly circuit in the North Yorkshire moors. Peter was pleased to finish 46^th overall in a group of 30 riders sprinting for 20^th place, just over 3 minutes behind the winner, teenage sensation multi world champion Tom Pidcock riding for Team Wiggins.

Next target is the local Lincoln GP on Sunday 13^th May 110 miles over 13 laps of the classic course up the cobbled climb to Castle square a real test of stamina and also luck avoiding trouble in a field of 150 riders
