The wind had abated a little for the 8th of the 2017 reliability rides but riders still had a tough ride heading out to Tilton on the Hill via Melton Mowbray on the 62 mile route. However swinging back towards Oakham with the wind now helpful average speeds picked up and everybody made it back to Grantham in their target range and enjoying some very nice countryside on the way. Group 1 also had a good ride on the shorter 50 mile route missing out the Tilton on the Hill section which as the name suggests includes quite a lot of climbing..!
Next week there is a choice of 2 routes 69 miles out through the Vale of Belvoir to Colston Bassett and circling back via Little Bytham or a 50 mile route which misses out the Colston Basset section. Full details on the club web site, first group leaves at 8.30 all welcome
